School of Environment researcher investigates the explosive forces that have shaped Auckland
22 May 2013
Volcanologist Elaine Smid recently appeared in a TVNZ story about research she and others are undertaking into the forces that have shaped Auckland.
Elaine is using an underground radar to see how deep Auckland's volcanic deposits are and how far they've travelled. The research focuses on what will happen above ground when the next volcano erupts.
