Tuākana programme

Semester 2, 2011 Tuakana Team

The Tuākana Programme is designed to assist first year Māori and Pasifika students to achieve their full academic potential. Each Stage 1 course is assigned a Tuākana (tutor/mentor) who runs weekly study groups in which you can get to know other students, discuss lecture material and clarify things you are not sure about. Essay, test and exam workshops are also organised as needed.

Past students who joined our Tuākana Programme found it enjoyable to study in a collaborative environment and achieved some great results.

Bes Takimoana Lironi is Programme Coordinator. If you have any questions about how the programme works, or how to get involved, please contact her. Information about the Tuākana, weekly study groups and other notices can be found on the noticeboard outside HSB550.
