Planning a BSc specialisation in Geophysics
The specialisation in Geophysics is run jointly by the School of Environment and the Department of Physics and is available for students who wish to combine Geology, Physics or Mathematics together with Geophysics.
Within the specialisation it is possible to focus on applied, atmospheric or marine geophysics at both Bachelor of Science (BSc) and postgraduate levels.
The course requirements for this specialisation are:
- at least 15 points from GEOLOGY 103 - GEOLOGY 104
- 30 points from PHYSICS 213, PHYSICS 230
- 15 points from MATHS 253, PHYSICS 211
- 30 points from GEOLOGY 201, GEOLOGY 204, MATHS 260, PHYSICS 220, PHYSICS 240
- 30 points from GEOLOGY 361, GEOPHYS 330, GEOPHYS 331
- 30 further points from GEOLOGY 301 - GEOLOGY 372, GEOPHYS 330, GEOPHYS 331, MATHS 302 - MATHS 384, PHYSICS 315 - PHYSICS 391.
