Welcome from the Director
A message of welcome from the Director of the School of Environment.
The School of Environment (ENV) is an innovative amalgam of disciplines and interdisciplinary programmes that have a shared focus on the natural and human contexts and conditions of the world we live in. Its formation in 2009 (formerly the School of Geography, Geology and Environmental Science) has been timely given the public, political and policy recognition that physical and social explanations alone cannot sufficiently acknowledge the complexities of issues of contemporary concern.
Teaching is research led such that academic staff include in their course material the latest findings related to the School's six interdisciplinary research themes namely, Earth Systems and Resources, Contested Environments, Globalising Processes, Living with Environmental Change, Pacific Futures and Urban Dynamics.
