Mark Harvey is a PhD student at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His research is concerned with gas emissions from high-temperature geothermal systems and volcanos, and how this can be used to locate geothermal energy, a clean and renewable source of electricity. In New Zealand, geothermal energy provides about 20% of the nation’s electricity.
