GradDip Sci/GradDip Arts in Geography

The Graduate Diploma in Science or Arts is a one year full time programme of study intended for students who do not have sufficient background in Geography to enrol in the postgraduate diploma or honours programmes.

The graduate diploma programme requires 120 points, typically comprising eight 15 point courses in geography selected from the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science (Hons) or Bachelor of Arts (Hons) schedules.

Admission requirements

Students intending to gain admission to the Graduate Diploma of Science must have completed a Bachelor of Science degree.

Students intending to gain admission to the Graduate Diploma of Arts must have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree.

 

Degree structure

The Graduate Diploma in Science or Arts (Geography) requires 120 points from courses for the BSc or BA or BSc (Honours) or BA (Honours), and must include:

  • 120 points from courses above stage I including at least 75 points above stage II, including
  • at least 45 points from the Geography major or GradDipSci students may include 45 points from geophysics, environmental science, marine science.

A project or dissertation of up to 30 points may be included.
