School of Environment

Material Preparation and Testing

  • Earth Science Processing Lab

The Earth Science Processing Lab at the School of Environment is equipped for the bulk processing and refining of raw rock and wood materials in preparation for subsequent analysis.

  • Sedimentology and Particle Analysis

Facilities and equipment for the preparation and analysis of sediments and soils at the School of Environment.

  • Engineering Geology

Geotechnical equipment used to test the engineering properties of earth materials at the School of Environment.

  • Research Microscopes

There are a number of microscopes at the School of Environment that provide basic microscopic analysis and imaging.

  • The Physics of Rocks Lab (PORO Lab)

The Physics of Rocks Lab has high-pressure systems to simulate in-situ measurements of rock elasticity, porosity, density, permeability and perform rock-fluid reaction experiments.
