Dr Cate Mcinnis-Ng receives Marsden Fast Start Grant

26 October 2012

School of Environment Research Fellow, Dr Cate Macinnis-Ng has received the exciting news that her Marsden Fast-Start project will be funded from next year. The three year study is titled Ready for climate change? The ecophysiology of New Zealand kauri (Agathis australis) forests. The project involves exploring physiological responses of kauri and associated trees to seasonal drought across a rainfall gradient to identify water saving mechanisms in native trees of New Zealand.

Cate will be looking for a PhD student to take up a scholarship position and at least one Masters student. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a Marsden-funded project and interested students should contact Cate Macinnis-Ng and check this website for further details soon.

Listen to Cate talking about her research on TVNZ's Breakfast show with Will Hine.
