Professor Glenn McGregor and Masters student Ryan Smith appear in Gisborne Herald

A recent article in the Gisborne Herald titled "Gisborne a ‘natural laboratory’ for study", covered Professor McGregor's climatology research with Masters student Ryan Smith. Their trip enabled Glenn and Ryan to gather East Coast rainfall data that could assist with future water resource and natural hazard planning work in the region.
Professor McGregor was also undertaking preparatory work for a field trip which is being planned for students of the School's new Earth Science Programme which will be starting in 2013. Around 80 undergraduates will visit Gisborne next year during a week long field excursion.
