01 November 2010

Marc Tadaki recently participated in the Running Hot science and research conference at Te Papa. This bi-annual conference provides a forum for New Zealand’s emerging researchers. This year the conference theme “Wonders and Widgets – Realising the Value of Research for New Zealand” addressed the different forms of value that can be derived from research and identified practical ways of enhancing and realising the benefits of research. There were four themes: Imagining Value, Creating Value, Transforming Value and Enhancing Value.

During the conference a panel discussion was chaired by Bryan Crump from Radio New Zealand. The panel featured three emerging researchers including the School of Environment’s postgraduate student Marc Tadaki. A podcast of the panel discussion which features Marc and titled "Symposium: Lasers, Climate Change and Mothers’ Diet" can be accessed from Radio New Zealand National.
